HSE Standards Settings of Export Facilities

23-09-2024 - 27-09-2024 3800 دبي

Course Introduction:

The Petroleum and gas industry is increasingly faced with an array of environment, health and safety issues. Standards with respect to the inter-phase between the industry and the various environmental compartments derive from available and applicable technology in any sector of the industry. Industry operators have evolved to become self regulatory in some instances while in others, they wait to comply with prescriptive regulations and respond to the degree of their enforcement.

OSHA is responsible for assuring safe and healthful working conditions for working people during marine oil spill response, OSHA provides advice and consultation at the request of other government agencies. If necessary, OSHA uses enforcement action to assure that workers are properly protected.

HAZWOPER requires that a senior official who is present at the response site, an Incident Commander, lead an emergency response operation. For marine oil spills, the ranking Coast Guard officer or EPA official at the spill scene usually functions as the On-Scene Incident Commander.

The emergency response remains in effect until the Incident Commander declares it completed. A variety of exercises, readings, videos and case studies will be used to understand and practice the leadership, communication, implementation, and monitoring, corrective action, audit and review tools generally used in HSE management systems.

This course will cover the techniques in HSE Standards Monitoring & Improvement Procedures, as the course recognises that HSE professionals come many different backgrounds but with a common challenge of ‘effecting change’ to improve HSE performance.
