Basic Electricity for Electrical and Non-Electrical Person
Electrical Energy is used everywhere affect every technical careers. This course will introduce some of the basics of electrical engineering theories & concepts. By participating in this course, you’ll gain a general understanding of the general concepts of electrical energy generation, transmission and distribution besides knowledge in the operating principles of relevant devices/equipments.
This most popular course focuses on the basic principles of industrial and commercial electrical power distribution. Your expect trainer will first help you understand basic concepts for the direct current case and then extend them to single-phase and three-phase alternating current. They will also develop basic electrical concepts such as power factor, kVA, kW, and inductive loads. Emphasis will be on understanding the basic phenomena rather than the rigorous mathematical derivations. Instruction will assume that you have no prior electrical engineering formal education but are currently working in the field.
Upon completion of this course participants should:
Know the Basic Electrical Parameters (Voltage, Current, Resistance), their units of measurement (Volts, Amperes, Ohms) and inter-relationship (Ohms Law)
Be able to relate these parameters to the Basic Electrical Circuit and Series and Parallel Circuit configurations
Understand the difference between continuity and insulation resistance
Know how to calculate Electric Power and Energy consumption
Understand the information marked on equipment for rating purposes
Understand the characteristics of and differences between direct current (D.C.) and alternating current (A.C.)
Understand the need for electrical protection, the types of abnormal condition for which protection is required, types of protective device available for use and method of operation
Be able to select a protective device of the correct type and rating
Understand the principles of earthing
Understand the need for and difference between switching and isolation, including the characteristics of such devices and the importance of correct polarity
Have an awareness of the different supply arrangements (LV and HV) to work premises and the arrangement of building electrical installations
Understand the different types and constructions of electrical equipment and the use of extension leads
This course is designed for all they need to know the Basics of Electricity which related to their work. Also who require refreshing their knowledge and skills about the Electricity.
