Course Introduction:

This course is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the essential principles and practices involved in the management and operation of aerodromes. As global air traffic continues to increase, effective aerodrome operations are critical to ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with regulatory standards. This five-day theoretical course covers a wide range of topics, including aerodrome design, air traffic control procedures, safety management, and emergency response planning.

Participants will engage in discussions about the roles of various stakeholders in aerodrome operations, including air traffic controllers, ground handling staff, and regulatory authorities. Through case studies and theoretical frameworks, attendees will gain insights into the complexities of aerodrome management and the importance of effective communication and coordination among all parties involved. Day 3: Air Traffic Control Procedures

• Overview of air traffic control (ATC) roles and responsibilities

• Standard operating procedures for ATC

• Communication protocols between pilots and controllers

• Managing air traffic during peak hours

Day 4: Safety Management Systems

• Introduction to safety management systems (SMS) in aviation

• Risk assessment and hazard identification in aerodrome operations

• Safety reporting and incident management

• Best practices for fostering a safety culture

Day 5: Emergency Response and Contingency Planning

• Importance of emergency response planning at aerodromes
